Tibeb Leather Works came from the minds of two architecture students who teamed up for a class assignment to design a unique leather bound journal. Their classmates were their first customers and, from there, they grew, developing new products, scoring corporate accounts and opening two physical locations in Addis Ababa.

We met Yonatan, one of the two halves of Tibeb at a market in Los Angeles. The sleek design, innovative use of color and quality craftmanship were immediately impressive. When we learned of Tibeb's commitment to traditional workmanship, sustainability and the creation of opportunities for marginalized women we knew we had found kindred craftsmen.

Tibeb puts maximum effort and exceptional technique into crafting leather products. Ethiopians have used leather in their everyday life for generations and Tibeb strives to reintroduce the use of leather products tailor made for the hustle and bustle of life today. Each product they make is fueled by the need to challenge the status quo, using their business to instigate positive social and environmental change.

Our first collection of Tibeb products comes from that first meeting and represents the products Yonatan had brought to the United States to sell at markets and fairs. We simply could not allow these beautiful products to travel back across the ocean. Instead, we are sharing them with our customers. Act quickly, supplies are limited.
